Information for Job Seekers and Candidates

As former recruiting professionals, we received much feedback over the years from hiring managers about the candidates we've submitted to them. One of the first things a good recruiter must learn is what employers look for in a résumé, and after a few weeks on the job, we were amazed at how little we'd known (and how little most job seekers know) about what goes into a great résumé. This information is critical because while a great résumé can't always get you a job, a bad résumé can and will keep you from getting in the door.

While recruiters can give you an edge by leveraging this knowledge when presenting you to one of their clients, for various reasons it is not always in their best interest to do so. After all, it is those clients who pay their fees, not you, and it is important to understand who the recruiter's allegiance utlimately belongs to. As a consulting firm, our goal is to provide you this same edge, but without the inherent conflict of interest.

In this spirit, we recently launched Resume Smith, a résumé editing service intended to genuinely improve your résumé, as well as a Clean-Tech Job Board for the Boston area.
